RIF REVERB

Reorienting Remaining Employees After Rightsizing

They’re lost. You see it on their faces. The way forward for some is unclear. For a few, survivor guilt has all but overwhelmed their drive. But most fall somewhere in between. While attrition in these circumstances can be high, apathy is often rampant. Leaders at all levels need the right tools to promptly help their people find their bearings, reorient themselves, and see the path forward. Patience alone won’t help. Telling will make things worse. What leaders also need is the skills and confidence to facilitate self-discovery in others at the individual and group level. No matter how well or how poorly the downsizing was handled, individual perceptions of that process are all that matter to those individuals. Dealing with these perceptions, surfacing them, and reorienting them requires experience. In our 4-part series, we work with leaders at each level of the organization to develop these skills and practice them in our interactive workshop and, if desired, pilot programs to hone them.
