GOOD GRIEF

Processing Loss, Grief & Survivor's Guilt in Traumatized Organizations

If you’re reading this, then current challenges with organizational change aren’t going well. There’s a drop in morale, an uptick in absences, and few seem motivated. Commitment and engagement have given way to avoidance and indecision. Productivity is down and stress is up. The chain of command has become over-focused on tasks to the point of micromanagement and an increasing incidence of bullying behavior. All those around you are in survival mode, with a significant number suffering from Survivor Syndrome. What can be done? First, we’ll help you understand the beast with which you and your colleagues must wrestle—the stressful situation itself and the strain and guilt it provokes. Next, we’ll guide you through best practices on how to cope and lead other survivors to do the same. And finally, we’ll explore the challenges of overcoming organizational trauma and apply pragmatic communications consistently across formal and informal channels. Depending on the participant make-up of the class, Good Grief can be scaled for delivery to unassociated individuals, isolated teams, complete departments/functions, or entire organizations.
