MAKING PEACE

Serene Living in a Chaotic World

"God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can,
and wisdom to know the difference."

—“The Serenity Prayer” by Reinhold Niebuhr (1934)

Ah, courage and wisdom, indeed.

Contemporary life comes at us like a raging torrent, the adrenaline often carrying us mindlessly from appointment to activity to chaos to crisis to next news cycle and (if we're not careful) we might even come to feel like a passenger who's lost all sense of personal agency or control over one's own life—a victim who, somewhere along the line, became overcommitted, overworked, and now overwhelmed.

Making Peace equips those who choose to break that cycle to do so through the exploration of seven contextual realms we must each master in our own lives to stop the madness, rightsize or redirect the rat race, seize control of our "destiny," and lead our remaining days in the direction we truly wish to go.
