Facilitated Dialogues

Creating inclusive environments is critical for leaders driving success in the modern workplace. Our program walks through cases, approaches, exercises and definitions that empower managers with the knowledge needed to foster inclusive environments. Studies have shown that diverse organizations are more innovative and profitable and the business impact of a diversity-related crisis can be crippling. Work with us to build collaborative teams that perform at the highest levels.
The diversity conversation will continue to evolve and leaders will be faced with creating inclusive workplaces for people across the spectrum in the way they identify themselves. For organizations starting this journey, we recommend our introduction volume for your entire company. The first step toward building an inclusive environment requires a company-wide commitment and this volume demonstrates that commitment and introduces a shared intent and vocabulary.
For leaders and managers, we recommend all four volumes. The course includes core curriculum for each volume and is updated yearly to include relevant updates, new scenarios, and fresh practice exercises for leaders to continue their journey of inclusivity. One volume each quarter has driven strong results for our clients and we look forward to customizing a plan that makes sense for your organization.

As a leader in the diversity, equity and inclusion space, Jen understands the multi-faceted approach needed to build diverse teams, create inclusive environments and engage with diverse audiences.
At global PR firm Weber Shandwick, as General Manager and EVP her client work focused on the diversity and inclusion practice, writing diversity reports for clients like Amazon and providing strategic counsel for internal and external DEI initiatives. Her internal comms experience is informed by her experiential marketing background, having launched brands such as MetroPCS through integrated multicultural campaigns. Leveraging analytics through her work at Fish Technologies for all the U.S. sports leagues and the Olympics, she understands how to speak to a diverse audience and is a frequent public speaker on the topic.
Her current work through her consultancy, <a href="http://pivotandswerve.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Pivot and Swerve</a> brings her experience and network together as she counsels clients on integrated marketing and communications strategy, providing diversity counsel to organizations seeking to make substantive change. Current work includes providing strategic counsel to TCU on their Race and Reconciliation Initiative, both internally and externally as she guides their comms strategy. She continues to support her founding client, the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation. She leads their marketing and comms team, executive produces their Annual Legislative Conference sessions and award shows, supports their sponsorship team and is currently bringing the Ceremonial Swearing-in for new caucus members to broadcast television.
Jen holds a Bachelor&rsquo;s of Arts degree in Political Science and a Diversity and Inclusion Training Certificate from Cornell University.

Amanda Forasteros is a Practitioner Consultant and Faculty Member for Leath Group, LLC&mdash;a dynamic curriculum development and intellectual property greenhouse that grows leaders and shapes cultures.
The majority of her career has been defined by translating problems into solutions across four countries in two languages.
After overseeing operations at a Midwest caf&eacute;,&nbsp;Amanda moved south to pursue her passion of advocating for those who struggle to have a voice. Throughout her journey, she&rsquo;s used empathy and communication expertise to uncover problems and create clearer paths to success for individuals, families, teams, and organizations. Essential to her life&rsquo;s work is the desire to assist people in need through empathy and active listening&mdash;in English and Spanish&mdash;which she has done for business leaders, patient-clients in hospitals, children coming from homes of abuse or neglect, and victims of family violence in need of referrals and resources. Honoring individuals&rsquo; dignity through a &lsquo;hand-up&rsquo; versus &lsquo;handout&rsquo; approach, Amanda has equipped hundreds of people with the knowledge and tools necessary to more successfully navigate their own lives, to learn to solve problems for themselves and, as a result, to improve their immediate circumstances and longer-term trajectories. She believes fervently that this is best accomplished through a strengths-based and, in some personal cases, a trauma-informed perspective.
Amanda has provided interpretive and professional communication services for Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital and served in key leadership roles in numerous community organizations, the Texas Department of Child and Protective Services, and most recently The Family Place. She has volunteered with Girl Scouts of the USA, Genesis Women&rsquo;s Shelter, mentored, and served at Life Message.
Having earned her Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from the University of Missouri-Columbia, Amanda is currently pursuing her&nbsp;Master of&nbsp;Social Work (MSW)&nbsp;at the University of Texas at Arlington.
Amanda and her larger than life husband, JR., live in Rowlett, TX, where they demonstrate &ldquo;radical hospitality&rdquo; to all who enter here. She is a devoted member of Assassination City Roller Derby, a servant in Catalyst Church, an adventurous traveler, a crafter, and a foodie in search of the perfect taco (among other things).

"The soft skills are the hard skills" because they are (by their very nature) organic, subjective, open to interpretation, and difficult to master. Unfortunately, no one gets a 'pass' simply because something is difficult to learn.
Our Cultivation Series pries deep into the bushes and bramble of difficult to learn topical areas while never shying away from their importance. Though there are few hard and fast rules here, we and our clients have drawn a number of helpful conclusions about these ofttimes inscrutable topics.
While we can certainly add to or remove from any topic upon request, we generally aim for .5 to 1.5 days per program in the Cultivation Series. Said another way, if you're looking for a primer to dive deeply into seemingly soft, subjective areas quickly, this series is the place to start.
