It's cute—and less than terrible—but despite a few chuckles here and there, I mostly kept thinking to myself, Surely there are finer writers out there.
I mean, come on, IS THIS THE BEST YOU CAN DO, HOLLYWOOD?!?
Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson perform serviceably, but the drivel they were fed is exactly that. Nevertheless, the bar is so dang low on Hollywood comedies now that this latest installment is considered a success, so another is likely.
Interestingly, Neeson said of the project, “I think it's a one‑off, yeah. And if it succeeds, good," so I wonder if he regrets the role?
We'll see.
If there's enough money to be made, he just might keep going.
After all, I'm not sure how much longer he can be the "action" guy.
Though, come to think of it, Clint Eastwood was 78 when he starred in 2008's Gran Turino, and Neeson is only 73 today....
