Why could I not get enough of this when the entire world hated it?
I understand their points: Jamie Lee Curtis's character is obnoxious, Ariana DeBose's and Tiya Sircar's AI relationship is obnoxious, Jake Cannavale's depiction [of his real-life dad's character, played by Bobby Cannavale] is wooden and ham-handed, and Nicole Kidman's character is mostly nerdy and goofy, but [relative newcomer] Rosy McEwen's depiction of the younger Scarpetta is spot-on.
So, in a word, I guess I kept returning to see how Rosy would save Scarpetta from itself!
I agree, the whole shootin' match is CSI/CBS-like fare, but at its core is a team that means well—and this time that's enough.
