The horror genre is experiencing a revitalized, renaissance-level heyday of sorts since 2024 and Obsession is yet another brilliant example of that.
I've seen it three times and everyone's loving it! The word-of-mouth alone is FEVER-PITCH level!
Inde Navarrette gives a standout performance and writer/director Curry Barker has said he’s interested in expanding "One Wish Willow" into a broader anthology along the lines of The Twilight Zone, American Horror Story or Black Mirror.
That's my wish, too!
Inde's performance in particular has earned critical acclaim, with Paul Tassi from Forbes calling it "Oscar-worthy" and writing that it "blends so many different moods, so many different evolutions of a single character, that it makes her an all-time horror antagonist."
William Earl of Variety expressed a similar sentiment, calling her performance "singularly brave and brilliant" and writing that it "reverberates long after the story ends."
Next up for Navarrette is the thriller Invertigo, so stay tuned for more of her next year!
