I tried, I really did, because Nordic Noir / Scandi Suspense is my jam, but Detective Hole proved to be a non-starter for me.
Such an early and brutal beating followed by an unlikeable main character drowning in laughable writing is all a bridge too far.
P.S. Returned to it tonight (7/21/26). Once I got through Episode 2, I dug it. Ultimately, it gets way better, and the soundtrack alone is worth the watch:
