What do we say about something in which Halsey makes her big acting debut, and Sydney Sweeney flops because her attempt at stuttering is cringeworthy?
All in all, it's a great little film that I enjoyed. Felt a bit like Fargo, but obviously more of a miss.
But Halsey does just fine, and everyone but Sweeney is pitch-perfect.
The problem, as I see it, is that Sweeney was wrongly cast. She's great in rom-coms, and perhaps other genres, but having her be Sissy Spacek is a massive swing and a miss. She lacks the gravitas and chops to pull that off, plain and simple.
