Steve Jobs' Style

Steve Jobs' Style

This past Sunday night during the series finale of Mad Men, AMC previewed the first official trailer for Universal's forthcoming Steve Jobs biopic.  Adapted from Walter Isaacson's book by Aaron Sorkin and directed by Danny Boyle, the film stars Michael Fassbender, Kate Winslet, Seth Rogen and Jeff Daniels, with much of the action taking place during three 30-minute scenes, each of which occurs backstage during three separate product launches.  The film is rumored to culminate in 1998 with the launching of iMac.

I anticipate lotsa dense dialogue...

One can only hope Steve Jobs is as electric as Sorkin's The Social Network, avoiding the Sorkin curse of becoming too enamored with itself.

Its cast, in particular, has been a revolving door, but filming completed in April 2015, so the October release is certain and I, for one, look forward to an accurate telling of Jobs' life, both the good and the bad.

For those of you who like originals, here's a great 20-minute documentary of Jobs in action just ninety days after launching NeXT.
