Searching

Searching

Personal

I remember at about age 11 or 12 standing in our Morgan tool shed—searching for God knows what—and Dad remarked, “You find what you’re hunting for in the last place you look.” He was absolutely right, and I don’t think he was talking about pliers.

Success or cessation.

When we believe we have found what we are looking for, or actually have, well, I guess we have “succeeded” and, naturally, we stop searching.

When we don’t find the thing, well, we often quit, having failed. Or, said another way, having “ceased,” and perhaps too soon.

I’m not necessarily suggesting we search forever.

But I am suggesting the hunt and the find might very well be one and the same.
