Need More Hospitality?

Workplace

What a clean, simple little interview by Charlie Rose this past week with Danny Meyer, one of NYC's most successful restaurateurs.  (And all around nice fella.)

Danny tells a neat story about a doctoral student who, years ago, approached him and asked, "Why do I feel a certain way in your restaurants, that I don't feel anywhere else?"

"Come work for me," he proposed.

She did.

And ultimately, some 10-12 years later, her dissertation became the foundation of a new company (predicated on the notion of 'hospitality quotient'), whose sole desire is to propagate hospitable cultures.  Into all sorts of organizations.

Cool stuff.

I hope you'll check it out.
